His journey has been defined by meaningful collaborations with seasoned artists and promising new talents. With a natural ability to bring emotional depth to his pieces, Nandhagopan aims to create music that strikes a chord with listeners–from heart-touching melodies to peppy grooves.
One of Nandhagopan’s significant milestones in his career is his collaboration with the most celebrated singer Atif Aslam for the film Haal. The track is titled Hijr and it marks the highly anticipated return of the singer to the Indian music scene after a long hiatus.
Recently, in the Tamil film Madraskaaran, he ventured into reimagining AR Rahman’s timeless Kaadhal Sadugudu. His reinterpretation of this classic track has been widely appreciated for its seamless blend of nostalgia with contemporary elements.
After completing his degree in Electronics and Computer Maintenance from Union Christian College, Aluva, Nandhagopan felt his true calling was in music. This led him to pursue a diploma in Sound Engineering and Music Production at NHQ Studio in Ernakulam. Nandhagopan began his career as a sound engineer. He has assisted music composer Raghu Dixit and has since collaborated with music composer Rahul Subramanian on several projects. Nandhagopan is continuing his association with Rahul on the highly anticipated upcoming Malayalam film Kathanaar.
He has handled dub recordings for numerous films, including Peranbu (Malayalam), Valiyaperunnal, Operation Java, Kho Kho, Pada, Marconi Mathai, Kalla Nottam, Thottappan, J1947, and several others. He has also worked with renowned musicians like Vidyasagar, Deepak Dev, Jakes Bejoy, Rex Vijayan, Sushin Shyam, Sooraj S Kurup, Ranjin Raj, and several others that has shaped his artistic sensibilities and expanded his creative journey.
As a playback singer, Nandhagopan has contributed his vocals to Ore Kannal and Wall Protest from Luca, and Theeram Thaane Uunarum from Kho Kho, as well as the film's OST.
Venturing beyond cinema, Nandhagopan has also carved out a space in the indie music scene. His Hindi single Fikhar and the upcoming Tamil track Nizhal reflect his creative freedom and willingness to explore new sounds and themes.
While his debut film Haal currently in the post-production stage, Nandhagopan has three Malayalam films and a Tamil film, all in the pre-production stages. He continues to push boundaries, pursuing new ways to connect with his audience through music that entertains, lifts your spirits, and stays with you long after the last note.
